Hello!

I’m so happy to meet you through this forum, and hope to communicate with all of you here!

 

My journey to make this film dates back to 2016. Little did i know that the journey would take THIS long!

And my god, what a journey it has been - for all of us - from 2016! One crazy US presidency, one sweeping pandemic, Black Lives Matter, two world cups (!) and regrettably, the rising of authoritarianism in the world - the very reason I decided to make this film.

Sometimes, I was frustrated with the slow pace I was making on this project.

But now, I am glad that we were slow... taking time when we have to, every step of the way.

Because through this process, we gained many things -

First: You, the audience. And you all come from different places in the world - some of them I was fortunate to meet last year at festivals, etc. 

 

Second: My pals. Casts, crew, friends and supporters, they are with me financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually and I'm the luckiest person to have them.

And Third: our home! Submittan now begins streaming free everywhere in the world, at DUST!

 

Today is our inaugural ‘OPENING DAY’ for this film online. I want to thank everyone at Dust for welcoming our film and hosting our baby at your cool dry place!

 

Now the reason why we launched this website, kind of late...?

Because this journey that we are on from 2016... it doesn’t end here.

I am currently working on a longer adaptation of this film and want to keep expanding the world, with friends and colleagues.

So, please join me here as I tell the continuing stories of Submittan... 

I will also try to write something look back on the journey so far.

I hope to offer a small window into this homegrown filmmaking process that our cast, crew and I went through the past 7 years (and ongoing.)
